I had the opportunity to go to Downtown Disney for the grand opening of the Star Wars Trading Post in the former Rain Forest Cafe on February 19th. For three days before, the Trading Post was open for an Annual Passholder preview.
I arrived at Downtown Disney and got on the mobile queue at 11am. Originally I thought the wait would be 1-2 hours, however I was wrong. The mobile queue took 3 hours and the line afterwards took 1 hour for a total of 4 hours.
Since it was opening day, it was very busy and the store is big enough where people are taking their time inside with all the new merchandise available. I imagine over the weekend it will be even crazier, perhaps a wait of 4+ hours.
When I finally made it into the shop, I was impressed with how the space was converted from the old Rain Forest Cafe into a shop that's out of this world. It exceeded my expectations as well as the vast variety of merchandise available.
Since the Star Wars Trading Post moved, Wonderground was able to reopen. I was excited as it's one of my favorite stores in Downtown Disney. They even had some new artwork and merchandise which was a bonus.
Check out the whole adventure in my latest vlog! I also take a peak at Trolley treats to see what's new there on Buena Vista Street as well.
