This weekend Disneyland reopened for the first time in over a year. It's hard to believe it's been closed for so long. Because of the closure, we never got to see Snow White's Enchanted Wish and the updates to The Haunted Mansion until now.
Snow White's Enchanted Wish
Formerly Snow White's Scary Adventure was an odd ride. Especially the ending was very abrupt, going from the 7 Dwarves battling the Evil Queen to an abrupt "Happily Ever After." It was a nice ride, but it lacked unity. The ride was completely redone with updated scenes and technology.
Now that Disneyland is reopened, Snow White's Enchanted Wish has made its debut. The ride is fully re-imagined with new technology and scenes! I was fortunate enough be able to ride it this weekend and I was very impressed.
My favorite scene was the poison apple. The hag is preparing the poison apple and you get to see it the poison green flash throughout the scene as the magic takes over. A close second is the mine scene with all of the gorgeous gems!
Haunted Mansion Updates
Before the shutdown, the ride was closed for some updates. Just like Snow White, we never got to see the updates until this past weekend. They made some minor changes such as drapes and wallpaper. We also got to see the end of the Haunted Mansion queue finished!
At the end of the queue, there is now a wrought iron gate with glowing orbs between you and the Doom Buggies. There is also a new portrait on the final wall titled April to December and they added a one-eyed cat (whose eye glows red) at the end of the queue as well. I feel the changes really pull everything together and look amazing.
