We have some exciting news today! This afternoon Disneyland announced their opening dates!
Downtown Disney: July 9th
Disneyland: July 17th
Grand Californian/Paradise Pier: July 23rd
First of all, I want to point out that Disneyland is reopening on its 65th anniversary. I don't believe that to be a coincidence. Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955.
The opening is in line, just a few days after Walt Disney World fully opens. Obviously there's going to be a lot of changes from the last time we visited Disneyland. We will be seeing a lot of changes in regards to social distancing. You can read more about the changes that we know of Here.
Just like for Walt Disney World, ticket and annual pass sales have been suspended and all guests will require reservations in order to attend the parks. We are still waiting for more information on the reservations. While WDW has announced a soft opening for annual passholders, we haven't heard anything from Disneyland on the matter.
I plan to be at Downtown Disney and Disneyland opening weekend for each if possible. I can't believe how excited I am just go go to Downtown Disney. I was never one to spend a lot of time there, but after the parks have been closed so long, I can use the Disney Magic. Finally, my birthday is July 19th, so I hope to celebrate in the parks.
