Disneyland Exclusive Merchandise Requires Shopping Reservations

Disneyland remains the only Disney park that has yet to open. However, Downtown Disney has reopened, including shopping at World of Disney. 65th Anniversary and Halloween merchandise have released in World of Disney and some Limited Edition pins have been released at Pin Traders as well.

In a new development, Downtown Disney is reopening the former ESPN Zone as a shopping experience with limited edition merchandise available through reservation only and you must select a shopping window. Reservations are open and I am sure will sell out fast.

The first round of merchandise to be available through the reservations is 65th Anniversary Limited Edition pins. (Which are Limited Edition of 2,000 and subject to the standard LE limitations of 2 pins per style.) These pins all feature rides and attractions that were open when Disneyland first opened in 1955. Other merchandise will be available, and more merchandise that is expected to be in high demand will be available in the future.

The rides and attractions featured on the limited edition pins are:

  • Disneyland Railroad

  • Autopia

  • Jungle Cruise

  • King Arthur's Carousel

  • Mad Tea Party

  • Main Street Cinema

  • Mark Twain Steamboat

  • Mr. Toad's Wild Ride

  • Peter Pan's Flight

  • Snow White's Scary Adventure

  • Storybook Land Canal Boats

  • Casey Jr Circus Train

  • Dumbo's Flight

When checking in, a photo ID is required that must match the name on the reservation and only one name is allowed per reservation. It looks like arriving late isn't recommended as you may miss out.

There are product limitations, a you are only allowed 2 per style. Obviously everything is subject to change.

I am excited to see what other products are released through this system, however, I am not looking forward to battling for reservations. I have a feeling they'll be gone almost instantly.
