Disneyland Can Open Again!!

Seemingly out of nowhere, the state of California announced that theme parks can now reopen as soon as April 1 in as low as the red tier! This is outstanding news for all theme parks, especially Disneyland as the previous regulations required a county to be in the yellow tier (the least restrictive) before opening.

Before we go further, there are four tiers a county can be in according to various factors involving Covid testing and cases. The four tiers are: Purple, Red, Orange, and Yellow. Purple is the worst and most restrictive. For example, there is no indoor dining and business capacity is the most restrictive. By contrast, the yellow tier is the least restrictive, but very difficult to reach. Very few counties have hit the yellow tier, in fact, most counties in California have remains in the purple and red tiers.

So you can see that by allowing theme parks to open in the red tier is a huge step forward and things turning back to some semblance of normal.

However, that being said, I doubt that Disneyland, and most other theme parks will be opening exactly April 1. This announcement was very sudden and these theme parks will all need time to get their staff ready and make preparations. These things do take time. Also, you have to consider that Disneyland just sold tickets to an event, Touch of Disney, which currently goes until April 21st. The parks will most likely be opening after the event, perhaps even closer to May. It's going to take some time to prepare.

We will know more once Disney makes an official announcement hopefully in the next couple weeks. Personally, I can't wait to set foot inside Disneyland again and look at the castle. Looks like it will happen sooner rather than later.
