An unprecedented time that I didn't even think was possible.
Before 2020, Disneyland had only closed twice, each for one day. The first closure was in 1963 for the assassination of JFK. The second closure was September 11, 2001.
For the first time in Disney history the parks are closed for more than just a couple days. The three Asian Disney parks have already been closed, but the rest followed suit announcing their closures March 13 including the Disney cruise lines and all Disney properties.
There is no end date in sight for these closures, but I wouldn't be surprised if these closures stretch into April. As much as it stinks to be in this situation I feel like Disney made a smart decision to close the parks. If the parks were to remain open, people would continue to go and risk increasing the spread of COVID19.
Though there's no end in sight, we can all hope that one day things will return to a semblance of normal one day soon. I know I will be elated when Disneyland reopens.
